When we hear M.B.A. the only thing we think of is of “Master of business Administration” but it means many more things. Here are some of the forms; ‘Mad Boys association’ in lighter vein, ‘Mind on Bhagwan Always’ on a devotional note and ‘Mind Body and Atma (soul) giving a spiritual dimension to it.
It is very rightly said, management is fundamentally man management, take an example of watch what do the words explain – Watch your -
W – your WORDS, H- your HEART , A – your ACTIONS , T- THOUGHTS, C- CHARACTER , H – your HEART
It is also said Management can be learnt through Bhagwad Gita. So is the reason why it is included in curriculum in IIM’s and other management institutes. Of Corse Gita teaches us Work is Worship. In short greatness of Gita can be described as – ‘It is like a kalpavriksha- a wish fulfilling tree’ That is why :-
Gita is the messenger of God
Gita is the Mother of entire universe
Gita is the supporter to a Sadhaka
Gita is the swimming gear for the householder
Gita is the repository of mantras
Gita is the spring of Vedantha
Gita is a beautiful path of flowers
Gita is the right royal path.
Management includes discipline, duty and devotion, leadership. Discipline is also the key ingredient to education. According to me duty and devotion with sincerity should be saturated with discipline. Discipline entails strict observance of rules and regulations. Without discipline the mind of a man turns into a wild elephant so catch it in young .Therefore it is rightly said; Discipline is integral part of education and key ingredient to a good and dynamic personality.
According to various studies on management 12 % of effective management is knowledge and 88 % is dealing appropriately with people. Leadership is traditionally considered to be a process where in one person influences others to achieve a purpose. Accordingly, a person whose thoughts, words and deeds are in harmony can become a good and effective leader. The entire distillate of effective leadership process is summed up just in 4 words.
- TO BE 2. TO DO 3. TO SEE 4. TO TELL
Firstly TO BE is a trait form of leadership stepped in the leader’s personal values, quality and knowledge.
Secondly TO DO is leadership based on practicing what we preach finally TO SEE and TO TELL are the functions, tools and techniques of leadership. To See implies that a leader must be in complete touch with the realities of the environment in which he/she is working. To Tell means conveying to others what the leaders want them to do.It can be inferred from the foregoing analysis that effective leader is one who influences himself / herself first before influencing others and as such self-management becomes an important prerequisite of effective leadership.
So to conclude with;
Sow a thought, reap an action
Sow an action, reap a tendency
Sow a tendency, reap a habit
Sow a habit, reap a character
Sow a character reap YOUR destiny.
Therefore Destiny is our creation. If we change our habit we can be a master of our Destiny.
